The important details

Privacy Policy

Family information is personal. This policy explains our current website and private-development stage, and what to expect when you contact us.

Last updated: 11 September 2026

1. Who we are

Family Reminder is an early-stage UK project operated by Andrew Deegan. The website is thefamilyreminder.com. For privacy questions or requests, contact hello@thefamilyreminder.com.

This policy describes the current website. The product is being developed and tested privately; it is not generally available.

2. Visiting this website

Our hosting and infrastructure providers may process normal technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device information, and basic request and security logs. This helps deliver the website, diagnose faults and protect it from misuse.

We rely on our legitimate interests in providing and maintaining a secure, working website for this processing.

3. Contact enquiries

If you email us, we process your email address and the contents of your message so that we can respond and manage your enquiry. Please only include information needed for your question.

We rely on our legitimate interests in answering enquiries and communicating with people interested in Family Reminder. We’ll only use your email to respond to your enquiry, including any conversation needed to resolve it. Contacting us does not sign you up to a marketing mailing list.

4. The private beta

If you later take part in a private beta, you may provide reminders, household information and conversational messages necessary to test the service. Participation will be by arrangement. This website does not collect that information or create a product account.

Before collecting beta information, we will explain the features being tested, what information is needed, who can access it, which providers are involved and the applicable lawful basis. We will update this policy or provide a specific beta notice as appropriate.

We are exploring familiar conversational channels such as WhatsApp alongside a private web application. No public WhatsApp integration is provided by this website.

5. Information you should not send

Do not send passwords, PINs, full payment-card details, online banking credentials, authentication codes or other authentication secrets. Family Reminder is not a password manager.

Please avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information in a contact or beta enquiry.

6. Children and family information

Family Reminder is intended for adults. Parents or guardians may choose to provide information about everyday family life during a future private beta. Children should not create accounts themselves during the private beta.

Adults should only share information they are entitled to provide and consider the privacy of other family members.

7. Sharing and service providers

We do not sell personal information to advertisers. Service providers, such as website hosting, infrastructure and email providers, may process limited information where necessary to host and operate the website and handle enquiries. We may also disclose information where required by law.

Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where a restricted international transfer is involved, we will ensure appropriate safeguards are in place as required by UK data-protection law. You can contact us for information about the providers and safeguards relevant to your enquiry.

8. How long we keep information

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, subject to legal or operational requirements. For enquiries, this includes the time needed to answer and deal with any relevant follow-up. Technical log retention may depend on the hosting provider’s operational settings.

9. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law gives you rights to access your personal information, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, restrict processing, object to processing (including processing based on legitimate interests), and receive certain information in a portable format. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it.

To make a request, contact hello@thefamilyreminder.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. These rights can be subject to legal conditions and exceptions.

You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. We would welcome the opportunity to address your concerns first.

10. Cookies and tracking

The current website does not intentionally use advertising or behavioural tracking cookies. We have not added analytics, advertising pixels or a beta sign-up form. If we introduce cookies or analytics, we will update this policy and seek consent where required before using non-essential technologies.

11. Security

We aim to use reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the information we handle and the current stage of development. No website, email system or online service can guarantee absolute security.

12. Changes and contact

This policy may change as the private beta develops. We will update the date at the top and bring material changes to the attention of affected beta participants where appropriate.

For privacy questions or requests, email hello@thefamilyreminder.com.
