1. About Family Reminder

Family Reminder is being developed to help adults organise reminders and household or family information. The service is experimental and in private development/testing, rather than generally available. The examples on this website illustrate ideas and features we are testing; they are not a promise that those features are available.

These terms apply to this website and, where offered, private-beta participation. We will explain any additional beta arrangements before you take part.

2. An evolving service

During the beta, features may change or be removed, testing may be paused, and access may be limited. Availability, accurate reminders and uninterrupted operation are not guaranteed. We will try to communicate significant changes to affected participants where practical.

3. What the service is for

Family Reminder is an organisational aid. It is not an emergency service, a source of legal, medical or financial advice, a password manager, or a guaranteed record-keeping service.

You remain responsible for checking important information, dates and actions. Keep original records and suitable backups elsewhere. Do not rely on Family Reminder as the sole repository for information needed in an emergency or as your only way of remembering a critical deadline.

4. Using the service responsibly

You must not submit unlawful material or credentials and secrets such as passwords, PINs, payment-card details, online banking credentials or authentication codes. Do not misuse the service, interfere with its operation or try to access another household’s information without permission.

Only provide information you are entitled to share and respect other people’s privacy. The private beta is intended for adults; children should not create accounts themselves.

5. Your information and our work

You retain ownership of the information you provide. You allow us to process it only as needed to operate the agreed beta and as described in our Privacy Policy and any specific beta notice.

We retain the rights in the original Family Reminder website, product design and software, subject to third-party rights and applicable open-source licences. These terms do not transfer ownership of that work to you.

6. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle website visits, contact enquiries and the current private-development stage. Please read it before sharing personal information.

7. Responsibility and liability

We will use reasonable care in providing the service. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.

Where we are responsible for a loss, our responsibility is limited to loss that is a foreseeable result of our failure to use reasonable care or our breach of these terms. We do not accept responsibility for business losses arising from use of this service, which is intended for personal household use.

The experimental nature of the beta does not remove rights you have under applicable consumer law.

8. Ending beta participation

You can end participation at any time by contacting us. We may also end or pause participation, for example if testing ends, the service changes or these terms are breached. Where practical, we will provide reasonable notice and explain how to request deletion or access to information we still hold, subject to applicable law.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product develops. We will show the latest date here and tell affected beta participants about material changes where appropriate. You can stop participating if you do not wish to continue under revised terms.
